Liaison for
the NGO
to the UN     

The Executive Committee (GNEC) was founded to promote a closer working relationship between the United Nations and the non-governmental organizations (NGOs) associated with  the United Nations Department of Global Communications(UN DGC). GNEC acts as a liaison between the NGO community and UN. It provides strategic guidance to make NGOs effective participants the work of UN DGC.

Civil Society Conference

The NGO Executive Committee has been a proud co-host of the United Nations Civil Society Conferences. These near-annual gatherings of organizations from all around the world has served as the premier UN event on the NGO calendar.


During the GNEC year, numerous workshops are organized to address important issues.

UN Relationships

The Global NGO Executive Committee (GNEC) through its affiliation with UN DGC works with other entities operating at different levels within the United Nations system.


There are eighteen (18) officers and directors of the Global NGO Executive Committee (GNEC).
